Every action is a command.

The window, the agent and your terminal all call the same ones, so anything you can do, the agent can do. Every change it makes is one undo step. The project is a folder of readable text files.

    Record

    Record a vocal from your interface onto a track, in the app. A raw take, no plugins.

    Ask

    In the chat: “make input 1 a Frank Ocean type vocal chain.”

    It builds

    The agent picks your plugins, dials them in and gain stages by measurement. You watch it happen in the mixer.

    Play back

    Hear it in real time. Compare the plan A/B, then apply it as one undo step.

    Ask for a plugin

The agent writes the plugin, builds it, measures it in a throwaway process, loads it into your chain and dials it in. Then you play it back. That's the conversation in the chat at the top of this page.

A project is a folder of readable, diffable files: tracks, routing, regions, plugin states, chains. Audio sits alongside.

One command layer

The window, keys, CLI, MCP server and the agent all call the same commands. If you can do it, the agent can.

Meters are data

Taps before and after every plugin slot stream peak, RMS, LUFS and gain reduction, with alerts. Never pixels.

Bring your own AI

Ovrtone ships the harness: commands, telemetry, skills, MCP. Connect Claude, another model or a local one.

Guardrails

Plan mode with A/B, one undo step per change, capped gain jumps, a master safety limiter, and asking before anything destructive.

Your plugins

It hosts your own AU and VST3 plugins (UAD, FabFilter, Valhalla, Antares) and says when one is in demo mode.
